Iran has begun using a third cascade of modified IR-6 centrifuges to enrich uranium at its underground Natanz facility, Reuters reports, citing an IAEA report.

The IAEA adds that Iran has informed the agency of its intention to add three more IR-2m centrifuge cascades to the 12 already planned, the installation of two of which has already begun.

The organization said, since late August, Iran has completed the installation of another cascade of IR-4 centrifuges and six cascades of IR-2m.

On August 31, the media quoted the IAEA as saying that Iran had begun enriching uranium at the second of three cascades of modified IR-6 centrifuges at the underground facility in Natanz. A few days earlier, it had been reported that enrichment had begun at the underground site using the first of three cascades of IR-6 centrifuges.
