If Ankara is thinking about becoming a mediator in talks on the situation in Ukraine, Russian and Turkish presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Erdogan will meet this week in Astana, they will have an opportunity to discuss this, in general Moscow is ready to listen to any proposals, but it is impossible to say in advance whether this or that process will lead to the result, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

"It is clear to me that if Turkish colleagues are thinking about it, they will have a great opportunity this week during the meeting of Presidents Erdogan and Putin, who will be together at events in Astana, to put such questions to us," he added.

"We have heard nothing but public announcements," Lavrov said during the 60 Minutes program on the Russia 1 channel, responding to a question about possible negotiations on the situation in Ukraine mediated by Turkey.

The head of the Foreign Ministry complained that it was not the first time when Russian partners announced some initiatives publicly, drawing attention to them, and then looking at the reaction of other countries.
