NATO members and allies at the Brussels meeting are likely to focus on providing Ukraine with additional air defense systems, the US ambassador to NATO, Julianne Smith said, according to CNN.
She said more than 50 countries in Ukraine's Defense Contact Group will meet ahead of the Oct. 12-13 NATO ministerial meeting to determine what more can be done to help Ukraine.
Discussions are likely to focus on air defense support, she said. According to Smith their focus from the beginning has been on speed. The U.S. has been in contact with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the defense minister since the war began. he said that they're constantly assessing their needs - pairing them with countries that have assets and looking for ways to turn those assets over to the Ukrainian Armed Forces as quickly as possible.
