YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: The delegation led by the president of the National Assembly [(NA)], Alen Simonyan, is in Moscow at the invitation of the chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation [(NA)], Vyacheslav Volodin.
The RA NA delegation met not only with Volodin, but also with the chairperson of the [Russian] Federation Council, Valentina Matviyenko, and the representatives of the [ruling majority] United Russia faction represented in the RF Parliament.
Yesterday, on October 11, news was being disseminated on Telegram channels that both Volodin and Matviyenko asked a clear question to the RA delegation—and in particular to NA President Alen Simonyan—to clarify whether the RA is going to bid farewell to the CSTO, or recognize the RA-RF strategic partnership as nothing, so to speak, changing the geopolitical vector.
The logic suggests that the Russian colleagues should have asked the members of the Armenian delegation that visited the RF questions, first of all, about changing the political vector, or having such an intention.
