At the autumn session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in Strasbourg, a representative of the Armenian opposition, MP Hayk Mamijanyan pointed to one emerging negative trend, the Armenian service of Radio Liberty reports.
According to him, representatives of some national delegations constantly equate Armenia and Azerbaijan in their speeches. He finds this approach unacceptable. The opposition MP expressed an opinion that this is a result of Azerbaijani lobbying.
In his turn, the head of the Armenian delegation, an MP from the ruling Citizens' Agreement party Ruben Rubinyan, though he expressed satisfaction with the two days of discussions, nevertheless, directly stated the need for an immediate withdrawal of Azerbaijani troops from the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia.
"We got unequivocal condemnations and clear calls for the withdrawal of the Azerbaijani army from the sovereign territory of Armenia. The discussion went very well for us. We received unequivocal condemnation of Azerbaijani aggression," Rubinyan assured.
