The CSTO is ready to send its observers to Armenia, this requires a decision by the Collective Security Council, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, "Immediately after Armenia asked to convene an extraordinary CSTO summit, it took place and decisions were made to send the CSTO Secretary General and the head of the joint staff to Armenia. They went there, they brought recommendations, and we have had these recommendations for over a month. We have already been dealing with the recommendations for over a month. They include sending a CSTO observer mission to Armenia, to the border with Azerbaijan," Lavrov said during talks with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan, RIA Novosti news agency reported.

He noted that the only thing required is a decision of the Collective Security Council, which should be convened by the CSTO chairman. "It is now the Republic of Armenia, so as soon as you have time, we will be ready to formally approve such a mission, it will be able to start working," the Russian minister added.

In turn, Mirzoyan noted that Armenia is expecting observers, but so far such a meeting has not been agreed upon. Lavrov assured that Russia is ready to hold such a session online at any time.
