Iranian security forces neutralized a group of arms dealers who were trying to smuggle a shipment of weapons and ammunition into the country, Mehr reported.
The IRGC Hamza Sayyid al-Shuhada base public affairs office in the province of West Azerbaijan in northwest Iran reported that they neutralized a group of arms dealers and seized a large number of weapons from them.
According to the IRGC base, they were transporting weapons within the country with the purpose of committing actions aimed at undermining the country's security.
Law enforcers confiscated a batch of nine rifles and a large quantity of ammunition from the traffickers.
