The price of gold is down slightly Thursday morning, including in anticipation of U.S. inflation data, trading data showed.
The price of December gold futures on the New York Comex Exchange is down $1.4, or 0.08%, to $1,676.1 per troy ounce. December silver futures went up 0.06% to $18.95 an ounce.
Analysts forecast that U.S. price growth slowed to 8.1% in September from 8.3% a month earlier, it will become known later on Thursday. The country's inflation rate has not fallen below 7.5% since the beginning of the year, with the Federal Reserve (Fed) target of 2%.
