Russia calls on Asian countries to work more actively with an international data bank to counter terrorism, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, RIA Novosti reported.

"We invite all Asian countries to cooperate more closely with the international data bank for counterterrorism approved on the initiative of Russia," he said at a summit in Astana on Thursday.

"It is extremely important to continue to work actively with other regional forums and organizations to resolve crisis situations and conflicts arising in Asia, strengthen cooperation among states to counter the terrorist threat, identify and neutralize extremist groups, block their financial support, fight drug trafficking and suppress propaganda of radical ideas," Putin said.
