It's a work process. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Paruyr Hovhannisyan, announced this to reporters Thursday, and referring to the proposals submitted by Azerbaijan regarding a peace treaty with Armenia.

"We are discussing the proposals of Azerbaijan, we are developing our proposals. This is a work process that has already started at a certain time. We have already informed that there are no fundamentally unacceptable points, but these proposals are not complete; that is why the Armenian side submitted its proposals," he said.

Referring to the Armenian-Turkish negotiations, the deputy FM said: "It was confirmed by both sides that the process is proceeding without preconditions, and that logic is preserved."

To the remark that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had stated that his country’s border with Armenia will be reopened if a peace treaty is signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan and when asked if this is a precondition, Hovhannisyan replied: "It was not submitted as a precondition. Establishing peace in the region has been presented as a more contributing process. However, no precondition was posited, purely in the context of the normalization of bilateral relations."

And to the question of what proposals there are from the West regarding the determination of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the deputy FM responded: "These are not specific proposals from the West, but efforts to assist both sides. That is the approach of the West; there is no other process."
