The European Union is preparing to deploy its observation mission to Armenia along the border with Azerbaijan. Former French ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Armenia Jonathan Lacôte wrote on his Facebook.

"The European Union is preparing to deploy its observation mission to Armenia, along the border with Azerbaijan.
For the first time since the start of the conflict in 1988, an international presence is established on the ground, at the initiative of France and EU.

This mission was announced at the end of the quadripartite meeting on October 6 in Prague," the former ambassador also wrote.

Earlier, Armenia's Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan reported on the visit of the European Union technical team to Armenia.
