The Prague statement will become the basis of the peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, after the meeting—in the Kazakh capital Astana—with his Russian and Armenian counterparts.

Bayramov emphasized during the meeting that Azerbaijan submitted its main points of the peace treaty to Armenia on October 2—in Geneva—and is now waiting for the response of the Armenian side. According to him, the basic principles of this peace treaty were submitted to Armenia back in February.

As per the Azerbaijani FM, during the recent Azerbaijan-Armenia-France-EU quadrilateral meeting in Prague, Baku and Yerevan "announced mutual recognition of each other's territorial integrity, and this will become the basis of the peace treaty".

Also, Bayramov noted the importance of starting the practical work of unblocking communications in the South Caucasus.

He added that Azerbaijan "supports concrete actions within the framework of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border delimitation process, on which the third meeting of the [joint] commission will be held in the near future."
