The speaker of the National Assembly (NA) does not rule out extending the period of the European Union (EU) mission in Armenia. Alen Simonyan told about this Friday to reporters at the NA.

"I would very much like the representatives of not only the EU, but also the CSTO to come and stand along the entire border and see who is provoking, who is violating the ceasefire. On the one hand, Azerbaijan boasts that their ‘iron hand’ has broken the Armenian army, on the other hand, they accuse us of provocations. The Armenian army, despite the accusations, is straightening its back today, the government is doing everything to raise the morale of our soldiers, and a vivid example of this was the heroic fight of our boys during the events of September 13, who heroically protected Armenia’s border because, in my understanding, the objectives of the [September] 13 war [by Azerbaijan against Armenia] were completely different and, thanks to our army, the objectives were not met," Simonyan said.

As per the NA speaker, Azerbaijan had approximately two to three times more casualties in the September 13 war.

"According to my data, the number of casualties of Azerbaijan is 431; you can publicize this number by making reference to me," said Alen Simonyan.
