A peace agreement cannot be concluded when Azerbaijani armed formations are on our territory, Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan told journalists in the parliament today.
"I also believe that when we sign a peace agreement, we should have a situation in which we have no prisoners of war. Otherwise it may give the impression of imitation," Simonyan said.
Referring to statements that a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan will be signed before the end of the year, the speaker of the National Assembly said: "This is our wish. On the basis of bilateral statements there is an attitude that the treaty will be signed before the end of the year. As far as I understand it is desirable for both sides."
