President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko urged the U.S. not to dance to the tune of insane politicians on the issue of nuclear weapons, BelTA informs.

"You know the main initiator of nuclear weapons use ... Can't you guess who it is? I'll tell you. Poland. It provokes you - the United States - to make some gestures in terms of nuclear weapons. Don't fall for this ploy. You are a big technological country, don't dance to the tune of crazy politicians," he said.

"There are nuclear weapons - let them be in warehouses where they are. The Russian President said, "If only nuclear weapons move to, let's say, Poland, there will be a chain reaction. On the other hand, there will be reciprocal steps. Therefore, we must not go for it. We must calm down and sit down at the negotiating table," Lukashenko said in an interview to the American TV channel NBC.

"Most importantly, your interlocutor and even your opponent should not be backed into a corner. So don't cross those lines, as the Russians say, "red lines." You should not cross them.... Russia has clearly stated its position: God forbid, there will be an attack on the territory of the Russian Federation, in this case Russia can use all kinds of weapons if necessary...

As for the implication of your question, never, including President Putin, has the Russian leadership set itself the goal of using nuclear weapons in Ukraine. There is no such need."

He recalled how a few days ago Russia launched high-precision weapons strikes against Ukraine in response to actions regarding the Crimean bridge. "You notice it's a force. And a very decent one at that. But that's not all. Russia possesses, this I know for a fact, the most modern weapons. And there is no need for nuclear weapons. Russia can cope without nuclear weapons," assured the Belarusian head of state.
