Pope Francis said he considers the cost of building nuclear weapons unacceptable and unthinkable

According to him, the world can exist without nuclear weapons. This type of weapon poses a great threat to people, so possessing it is immoral, the pontiff believes.

Earlier, Pope Francis appealed to Russian and Ukrainian presidents Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskiy to end the conflict.

During the prayer, Francis reportedly appealed to Putin to stop this spiral of violence and death, and he urged Zelenskiy to be open to serious peace proposals.

Francis also asked that each country's sovereignty and territorial integrity and minority rights be respected.
