Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani, speaking to ISNA news agency, criticized US President Joe Biden's statements about the recent unrest in the country caused by the death of young girl Mahsa Amini, as well as about the authorities in Tehran.

“Since the 1953 coup d'état up until today, the anti-Iranian policies of the US administration have been well recorded in our minds. And of course, the history and every part of the world would testify the wounds that America's crimes and violence have inflicted,” Kanaani pointed out.

“You (Americans) are accustomed to fishing in troubled waters,” the spokesman stated.

According to him, the Iranian establishment is not at all surprised by such statements from Washington. Kanaani noted that aggression and meddling in the internal affairs of countries have become the foundation of American policy.
