Ukraine will send an official note to Israel with a request to immediately provide air defense systems, the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Dmytro Kuleba said, reports UNIAN.
"Today Ukraine will send an official note to the Israeli government with a request to immediately provide Ukraine with air defense systems and begin quality cooperation to obtain the appropriate technology," Kuleba said.
At the same time, the foreign minister called a difficult question about the prospects of changing the Israeli position in the context of assistance to Ukraine, in particular air defense systems "Iron Dome". "We have long persistently called on Israel to open cooperation with Ukraine in the field of air defense. We don't see any objective reasons why it shouldn't happen, but at the same time, it's not happening," Kuleba said.
"You know that Iran is a red line for Israel. And after Iran has, in fact, become directly complicit in the crime of aggression against Ukraine, I think anyone in Israel who still has any doubts about whether or not to help Ukraine - those hesitations should ideally dissipate. And we will work on it with our Israeli partners," emphasized Kuleba.
According to him, if Israel's policy "really is to consistently counteract Iran's destructive actions, then it is time for Israel to openly take the side of Ukraine."
