David Price, chairman of the Democratic Partnership Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives, stated that he knows that they have arrived in difficult times for Armenia, for this region, in particular, they understand that tragic events took place, but the U.S. is making bicameral efforts, in particular, in the issue of the return of prisoners. David Price's remarks came at a joint press conference with Eduard Aghajanyan, head of the Armenian NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, in Yerevan on Tuesday.

The U.S. is against the invasion that took place on the sovereign territory of Armenia and demand that Azerbaijan return to its original positions, said Price. The U.S. also understands that the they have work to do, particularly by guiding the international community, working with international organizations, to ensure that this protracted conflict is resolved. Price said the U.S. is discussing the conflict and the possible role of the United States in that process.

He also talked about Armenia's commitment as a democracy. Price said they have noted that free elections are the cornerstone of democracy, but more important is what happens in between elections. What the Armenian National Assembly has done, particularly in the direction of anti-corruption reforms and strengthening democracy, is greatly appreciated, and they are proud that Congress has had accomplishments here as well, concluded the Chairman of the Democratic Partnership Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives.
