The attitude of Armenians toward the Russians who moved to Armenia in late February remains very friendly, Russian embassy in Yerevan shared this assessment with "Izvestia" on Tuesday.

"The embassy has not registered any aggressive manifestations towards our citizens, including on ethnic grounds. It should be noted that in contrast to several countries including neighboring Georgia, Russians in Armenia have been and continue to be treated in a friendly way, with warmth common to brotherly nations," the diplomatic mission emphasized.

At the same time it was difficult to name the exact number of relocates, noting that many of those who came here in late winter or early spring, returned to Russia or moved to other countries.

 "In addition, even before the special operation began, Armenia was - and still is - one of the most popular tourist destinations for our citizens," the Russian embassy said.

According to Armenian Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan, from January to August of this year 45% of more than 1 million tourists arrived in Armenia were Russians.
