As the head of the Armenia-Luxembourg friendship group of Armenia’s National Assembly (NA), MP Sona Ghazaryan addressed a letter to the President of the Chamber of Deputies of Luxembourg, Fernand Etgen, regarding Azerbaijan's latest military aggression against Armenia, and presented the situation in Armenia and the risk of a new attack.
The NA informs Armenian News-NEWS.am that in his reply letter, the speaker of the parliament of Luxembourg, on behalf of the legislative body of his country, expressed full continuous support for the democracy and territorial integrity of Armenia, stressing that Azerbaijan's military aggression against Armenia's sovereign territory is a direct attack on Armenia’s sovereignty. And as support, the speaker of the parliament of Luxembourg announced that a decision was made to send a high-ranking delegation of the parliament of Luxembourg to Armenia.
The head of the ADR faction, Fernand Kartheiser, informed that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg, Jean Asselborn, responded to the MP's questions about Azerbaijan's recent military aggression against Armenia, reaffirmed the condemnation of Azerbaijan's actions, emphasizing that they were condemned by the European Union (EU), too.
The FM Luxembourg noted that it is important to deploy an EU mission on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan, and that this can have a stabilizing role.
Asselborn emphasized that this EU mission can contribute also to the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The head of the foreign political department of Luxembourg again urged to refrain from the processes contributing to the further aggravation of the situation.
