People will be able to get Armenian citizenship not only for $150,000 in investments. Other standards will be set as well, Deputy Chief of Police Ara Fidanyan told reporters this on Wednesday. This, he said, is so far only a draft law. More detailed provisions will be set upon the decision of the government. All of the existing risks that we have identified will be eliminated if possible.  Fidanyan also responded to criticism. Journalists pointed out that Azerbaijanis and Turks, if the new law is adopted, will also be able to invest 150 thousand dollars, and obtain Armenian citizenship, according to the new law.

"First, the granting of citizenship will be limited to a certain circle of people. We can't define nationality as such in the law, but all the risks will definitely be taken into account. There are various types of criminal activities related to individuals involved in money laundering," explained the Deputy Chief of Police.

In response, journalists asked if a citizen of Azerbaijan can also make investments and obtain Armenian citizenship. "Azerbaijani citizen," in this case, is an extremely relative notion. By the same logic, he, for example, can be Azerbaijani by nationality, while having the citizenship of the Russian Federation. Therefore, we are not going to focus solely on the citizenship factor," said the deputy head of the police.
