The Iranian people will not allow the division of the state despite attempts by the U.S. and Israel, said Ali Akbar Velayati, foreign affairs advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Republic, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In an interview with Al Mayadeen, he noted that Tehran continues to develop and maintain its place as a leader in the region.
"The U.S. and Israel are not strong enough to split Iran, the great Iranian people will not allow this, but they have increased the pressure because they have seen that Iran is developing despite the sanctions and that we have the first and last word in the region," Velayati noted.
As the advisor to Iran's supreme leader pointed out, the U.S. should leave the Middle East because it does not have the resources to confront Tehran. He also added that the Americans are trying to dominate the region in order to "pillage" the constituent states without hindrance.
"Europeans once had an independent policy, but today they are subservient to America, and the damage done to Europe during the Ukraine crisis is due to dependence on the United States," Velayati stressed.
