UK Prime Minister Liz Truss has resigned after only 45 days in office.

The announcement made at 10 Downing Street in London had followed the virtually complete destruction of her political standing, as a result, she caused the markets to collapse, lost the trust of two important ministers and virtually all MPs.

In her resignation announcement, Truss said she had taken office with a vision of a low-tax and high-growth economy that she would use the benefits of the Brexit freedom.
