The Armenian foreign minister reaffirmed Armenia's plan to open a consulate general in Tabriz, Iran. Ararat Mirzoyan informed about this at Friday’s official opening of the Iranian consulate general in Kapan, Armenia.

He added that Iran has always been and will remain one of Armenia's key partners.

"Our cooperation includes a broad political agenda, as well as close ties in the domains of trade, energy, transport, tourism, science, education, culture, which, we hope, will grow deeper and get a new lease of life—including through the work of the Iranian consulate general in Kapan,” Mirzoyan said.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian also was on hand at the official opening of the consulate general.
