The consul general of Iran in Kapan, Armenia, believes that the officials of the defense sector are in contact, and meetings and discussions are going on. Morteza Abedin Varamin told reporters about this on Friday, when asked about Armenia's interest in acquiring Iranian combat drones.
"I believe there will never be a need to provide attack weapons to Armenia," he said.
The Iranian diplomat expressed hope that there will be no wars anywhere.
"Iran has repeatedly said that it is necessary to respect internationally recognized borders and the territorial integrity of countries. We [i.e., Iran] do not accept any change of borders. We want a peaceful and stable Armenia. The interests of Armenia and Iran coincide," he added.
