Iran will conduct military exercises wherever it deems necessary. The Iranian Parliamentary Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy member Hassan Hemmati stated this, adding that the Islamic Republic will not accept any changes to the borders of the South Caucasus, IRNA reports.

Commenting on the IRGC exercises in northwest Iran on the border with Azerbaijan, he noted that "these exercises were a demonstration of strength whose message is peace and friendship for neighboring countries and a resolute response to any threat to enemies."

"Developments on the country's northern borders are important to us, and where necessary, we are conducting exercises to protect the rights and security of the country...No international law allows for border changes in the countries of the region; we believe that each country has its dignity and position, and the territorial integrity of all countries in the region must be preserved."

The Ground Forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), involving several units, conducted a large-scale military exercise on Iran's northwestern borders.

In the course of the exercise, the IRGC Ground Forces practiced driving pontoon bridges and forcing on the Arax River on the border with Azerbaijan.

Plans for helicopter operations and parachute jumps, night strikes, missions involving attack helicopters, kamikaze drones, and capturing routes and heights controlled by a hypothetical enemy were also practiced.
