Sixteen people were injured, four of them hospitalized, as a result of an explosion at an Uzbek Defense Ministry warehouse in the Syr Darya region, the country's health ministry said Saturday.
According to the Ministry of Health's press service, an explosion was reported to the district's emergency department at 05:01 a.m. "After that, 12 of the 16 patients injured in the incident were taken to the Syr Darya district medical association. All the victims were immediately given first aid," the Ministry of Health said in a message on its Telegram channel.
Earlier, the Uzbek Defense Ministry reported that on Tuesday at 04:55, an explosion occurred at a military warehouse in Malik village of Syr Darya Region. The incident is being investigated. Later, the Defense Ministry told RIA Novosti that the situation at the storehouse was stable and the sources of fire were extinguished.
