A private plane en route from Mexico with five Germans on board has gone missing off the coast of Costa Rica, Mexican Public Security Minister Jorge Torres said.

"At about 6 p.m., we received a report of a private plane lost from Mexico to Limón airport. There were five passengers of German nationality on board. The plane lost contact with the control tower while flying over the Parismina region of the Costa Rican Caribbean," Torres said, according to the Observador.
