Russia and Turkey are working on the assessment and design of the gas hub, RIA Novosti reported citing a source in Ankara.
According to the source, the work requires assessments on the design, construction and marketing. The source said that the relevant agencies are doing this work within the orders of the presidents, the process is under the control of the presidents of Turkey and Russia.
On October 12 Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia could move gas transit from Nord Stream to the Black Sea region and Turkey.
On October 19, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he had agreed with Putin to create a gas hub to supply Europe with fuel.
According to Turkish presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalın, the country has all the necessary infrastructure to create an international gas hub on its territory.
