The most popular Lithuanian politician is the president of the country Gitanas Nauseda, whose activities are positively assessed by 60.8% of citizens, writes Delfi, citing the survey data of the research center Vilmorus.

Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anusauskas ranked second.

The head of the research center Vladas Gaidys noted that the recent public dispute over the deployment of the German brigade in the country and the opposition allegations against the minister did not hurt the rating of the minister.

The scandal related to President Nauseda and his comparison of the German army to a girl did not affect his rating either. Many human rights activists, meanwhile, consider the president's statement a sign of "typical sexism," local media noted.

Human rights experts expressed the view that with his phrase, Nauseda devalued women. Margarita Jankauskaite, a doctor at the European Institute for Gender Equality, said that the president should not allow himself to make such statements.
