In Louisiana, USA, a prominent Baptist pastor has confessed to taking money that was earmarked for the church, its residential outhouses, congregation and school for more than 30 years. He managed to steal about $900,000, NBC News reported.

It was found that in 2019, the man took $10,000 from a parishioner for the church and transferred it to his account. In addition, he collected donations for four years to repair the church building. A total of $106,408 was collected, which also ended up in his personal accounts.

The priest planned to open a school and was given grants and loans to do so. However, no school was opened. Investigators found that from 2013 to 2017 on the bank account of the man was transferred the amount of 221 thousand dollars, which was to be spent on the school.

The church has real estate on its balance sheet, which is rented out. The entire income - $150,000 - was also sent to the pastor's personal account. It was found that some of the church property worth about $500,000 had been sold. This money was also found with the priest.
