The Hungarian government has supported Sweden and Finland’s accession to NATO and submitted documents to the National Assembly to confirm it, the head of the Hungarian Prime Minister's Office told reporters.

According to Gergely Gulyas, the Hungarian Parliament will ratify no later than mid-December the respective petitions of Sweden and Finland 
When asked whether NATO will become stronger with the membership of Finland and Sweden, Gulyas replied that he hopes so.

He noted that it can be discussed whether this NATO expansion is in the interests of Hungary's national security, but added that it does not matter now.

Hungary and Turkey are the only two NATO member countries that have not yet ratified the membership petitions of Sweden and Finland.
