The Ministry of Justice has submitted a draft of amendments to Article 421 (Actions aimed at violating territorial integrity) of the Criminal Code of Armenia. This draft has been posted on e-draft.am, writes armeniasputnik.am.

In particular, it is proposed to add the words "or to renounce sovereignty" after the word "violation" in the title of the aforesaid article, and to add the following in the second section of this article: "Renouncing sovereignty—by using violence or threatening to use violence in favor of another state or an international or supranational public organization taking actions aimed at fully or partially curtailing the sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia—is punished by imprisonment for a term of 12 to 15 years."

The draft will be debated on until November 6.
