Ukraine itself should decide when to resume negotiations with Russia, the President of the European Council has said on the air of the France Inter radio station.

"No one can decide for Ukraine on what conditions to go to negotiations, what concessions to make," Charles Michel said.

He added that Europe, on its part, decisively supports Kyiv financially, with the supply of weapons, and in political terms.

Michel emphasized that Ukraine is "the master of its own destiny," and therefore it has a sovereign right as  to when to enter into negotiations.
