Israel has provided Ukraine with the intelligence it needs to fight the alleged drones supplied by Iran to Russia, The New York Times wrote, citing an unnamed Ukrainian official.

According to The New York Times, the unnamed Ukrainian official told the publication off the record that Israel "has provided intelligence useful for targeting the Iranian drones." The Wall Street Journal earlier reported, citing sources, that Israel was providing Ukrainian leaders with military intelligence and analytical information needed to counter Russia's alleged use of Iranian drones.

On Tuesday, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said his country would send an official note to the Israeli government asking it to immediately provide Kiev with air defense systems. The next day, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said that the Jewish state, along with NATO countries, supports Ukraine, but still does not intend to supply Kiev with weapons for operational reasons. Speaking at a meeting with ambassadors of European Union member states, Gantz stressed that Israel would continue to provide Kiev with humanitarian aid and non-military equipment.
