Azerbaijan plans to increase its energy supplies through pipelines and terminals on the territory of Georgia. Baku is going to export 22 million cubic meters of gas and increase this figure even more in the coming years. The President of Azerbaijan, currently on a visit to Georgia, said.

Gas from Azerbaijan is delivered to Europe via Georgia and Turkey: "This year we signed a memorandum of understanding between Azerbaijan and Europe, and over the next five years Azerbaijan plans to double the export of natural gas to Europe. We have opportunities and plans to export almost 20 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Europe by 2027. Naturally, we have discussed this with the prime minister of Georgia."

Aliyev also said that Azerbaijan plans to increase exports through its Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) and Baku-Supsa oil pipelines, as well as to use the oil terminal, which is located in the village of Supsa in western Georgia and is currently not in operation.

"The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline will increase exports, and with this pipeline, exports will increase and be even busier. We also want to use the Baku-Supsa terminal, I know it is not operating now, but we want to load this channel as well," Aliyev said.
