Azerbaijan sent a note in connection with the "anti-Azerbaijani statements" on Channel One, Turan reports.

"On October 20-21, on the air of the program "Big Game" on Russia's First Channel, Russian political scientists and experts of Armenian origin made blatantly anti-Azerbaijani statements, questioning the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and distorting the map of the state. In this regard, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Moscow sent an official protest note to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia said in a statement.

The Foreign Ministry was informed that biased statements and open political provocations on the state TV channel contradict the official position of Russia, repeatedly voiced by Russian President.

The host of this talk show is Vyacheslav Nikonov, a member of the United Russia faction and first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs.

"Such behavior by a representative of Russia's ruling party contradicts the spirit of Azerbaijani-Russian strategic partnership and allied cooperation, and causes significant damage to bilateral relations," the note said.

In the Declaration on Mutual Cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation, dated February 22, 2022, the parties refrain from any action detrimental to the relations of strategic partnership and alliance, directed against the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of states.

The Azerbaijani side demanded that Russia take immediate measures to stop the provocative actions of the Russian media and prevent their repetition in the future," the media report said.
