Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu's calls to foreign leaders that Ukraine is allegedly preparing radioactive "dirty bomb" attacks mean that Russia itself is preparing such an attack. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in his Monday evening address, the text of which has been posted on the website of the President's Office.
"If Russia calls and says that Ukraine is allegedly preparing something, it means one thing: Russia has already prepared all that," said Zelenskyy. "Therefore, when today the Minister of Defense of Russia organizes a telephone carousel and calls the ministers of foreign affairs, telling tales about the so-called ‘dirty’ nuclear bomb, everyone realizes everything perfectly. They know who the source is of every evil thing in this war.”
Ukraine has invited experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to visit its facilities where, as Russia claims, a "dirty bomb"—an explosive device containing radioactive material—could be created.
