Turkey's Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati said he would seek a gas discount from Gazprom, The Financial Times reported.
Nebati noted that Russia and Turkey have maintained good economic relations, which is why he will seek a discount on a large volume of gas purchased from Russia.
Turkey acts cautiously within the international financial system. It will not behave in a way that will lead to disruptions in the international financial system. We make this clear. Everything comes to us legally, Nebati said.
The Turkish official noted that he will ask Gazprom for a deferment of payment for gas.
