The U.S. has begun using information terrorism because of the ineffectiveness of sanctions, Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi said, RIA Novosti reported.

"The U.S. has already realized that sanctions don't work. Therefore, they started using other methods... Information terrorism is the main trouble," Raisi said at the general assembly of the Organization of Asian and Pacific News Agencies (OANA) held in Tehran.

He said Washington, in particular, had caused unrest in Iran, but miscalculated.
