The new leader of Britain's ruling Conservative Party, Rishi Sunak, took office as prime minister after receiving a mandate to form a government from King Charles III.
Footage of the audience held at Buckingham Palace was released Tuesday by the monarch's press office.
The 42-year-old Sunak will now head to the prime minister's residence in Downing Street, where he will address the people of the United Kingdom. He was the first prime minister to be confirmed by Charles III, who took the royal throne on September 8 after the death of Elizabeth II.
