Two members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were shot dead in Iran by unknown assailants. The incident took place in Zahedan, the capital of the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchistan, Mehr reports.

An IRGC statement noted that two members of Mahdi Mollashahi and Jawad Keikh were shot dead on their way home near Parastar Square. The assailant was in a car and fired a Kalashnikov assault rifle.

An investigation is underway to determine the perpetrators.
