Russia has information about Ukraine's preparations for a "dirty bomb" terrorist attack, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitriy Peskov told journalists when asked what further steps Moscow would take after the UN Security Council presented evidence of Ukraine's preparation of a "dirty bomb" at a closed meeting, TASS reported.
"We have information that suggests that Ukraine is preparing for such a terrorist diversion," he said, stressing that Russia will vigorously continue to convey its point of view to the world community in order to encourage them to take active steps in terms of preventing such irresponsible behavior by the Kiev regime. Peskov did not comment on the outcome of the UN Security Council meeting held behind closed doors.
Russia will take energetic steps to draw the world's attention to the threat of Ukraine's use of a "dirty bomb," Peskov also said.
On Monday, Igor Kirillov, head of Russia's radiation, chemical and biological defense forces, said at a briefing that the Russian Defense Ministry had put its forces and means in readiness to act "in conditions of radioactive contamination" because it had information about Kiev's readiness to use a "dirty bomb."
