Israel and Turkey are resuming defense cooperation, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said at a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Hulusi Akar during a working visit to Ankara.
"We are grateful to Turkey for the vital cooperation that saves the lives (of Israelis). As previously agreed upon, I have instructed my staff to begin procedures for resuming working relations," Gantz said during a joint press conference following the meeting with his Turkish counterpart. The Israeli minister's words were disseminated by his press service.
Gantz began a working visit to Turkey on Wednesday, during which he is also scheduled to meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
