Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan discussed in a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov the preparations for an extraordinary session of the CSTO Collective Security Council, the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.

"Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with Armenian Foreign Minister A.S. Mirzoyan on October 27. The foreign ministers discussed a number of topical issues of Russian-Armenian relations, preparations for an extraordinary session of the CSTO Collective Security Council and upcoming bilateral contacts at the highest level," the statement said.

The extraordinary session of the CSTO Collective Security Council will be held on Friday, 2022. During the session, it is planned to discuss the results of the CSTO mission sent to Armenia on 15 September 2022 in accordance with the decision of the CSTO Security Council in connection with the deteriorating situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

The session will consider joint measures to assist the Republic of Armenia.
