President Volodymyr Zelenskiy asks the US to provide Ukraine with Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, Abrams tanks and aircraft. He said this during a conversation with students and representatives of the faculty of Yale University, reports UNIAN.

"I will tell you frankly, if you had given us Patriots, I would have come to you for them myself. This is a priority for us. And any systems, to be honest, air defense and missile defense are very important... We had no artillery of 155-mm caliber.

The United States provided, and after that the European states started supporting us. After that came the issue of multiple rocket launchers.

The United States opened this window of opportunity and some European states supported it. Then there was the issue of tanks. Unfortunately, the United States did not give us tanks. We really wanted to get Abrams.

And if there was an opportunity, we know which particular Europeans could have added support for us in terms of armored vehicles and other tanks. That's what we're appealing to you with," Zelenskiy said.

He recalled that since the early days of the war, he had asked to close the skies over Ukraine. "And this is air defense, missile defense and aviation. That's exactly what we lack. Help us protect our skies," Zelenskiy concluded.
