The European Union calls on Russia to reconsider the decision to suspend its participation in the Ukrainian grain export deal, EU diplomacy chief Josep Borrell said on Sunday.
"The EU urges Russia to revert its decision," he wrote on Twitter.
According to Borrell, "Russia’s decision to suspend participation in the Black Sea deal puts at risks the main export route of much needed grain and fertilisers to address the global food crisis caused by its war against Ukraine."
On Saturday, the Russian Defense Ministry said Russia is suspending its participation in the grain deal after a terrorist attack in Sevastopol against ships of the Black Sea Fleet and civilian vessels involved in securing the grain corridor, carried out with the participation of British specialists. Earlier, the military reported that the Kiev regime carried out a terrorist attack involving nine drones and seven autonomous maritime drones. All of them were destroyed.
For his part, Russian Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev said on Saturday that Russia, including with Turkey's participation, is ready to supply the poorest countries with up to 500,000 tons of grain at no cost in the next four months.
