Inflation in Poland has broken the record of 25 years ago, according to the statistics office. Inflation was 17.2 percent in September compared to September of last year, a record high of 17.8 percent in 1997.
According to the GUS, inflation in October of this year was 17.9% compared to October 2021. Compared to September 2022, prices are up 1.8%.
Compared to October 2021, food and non-alcoholic beverage prices rose 21.9%, energy prices are 41.7% more expensive, and fuel for private consumers rose 19.5%. Compared to September 2022, food went up by 2.7%, energy by 2%, and fuel by 4.1%.
