Iran imposed sanctions against 10 individuals and four organizations from the United States. The country's Foreign Ministry was cited by Tasnim news agency as saying that Iran imposed sanctions on ten individuals and four organizations in the U.S., Tasnim news agency reported.

The sanctions were imposed on deputy U.S. Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo, the head of the U.S. Central Command General Michael Kurilla, Deputy National Security Adviser to U.S. President Anne Neuberger as well as other U.S. military servicemen and officials.

Sanctions have also been imposed on the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the National Guard, the U.S. Air Force's 9th Air Force, and the NGO United Against Nuclear Iran.

Tehran claims that the sanctions were imposed, in particular, for US interference in Iran's internal affairs.

On the eve, U.S. Special Representative for Iran Robert Malley said that Washington will consider the option of using military force against Iran if negotiations to restore the nuclear deal with it do not work.
